Additional information: Jose Maria Da Fonseca is the oldest and one of the most prestigious wine producers in Portugal. They produce natural wines and fortified wines: Porto and Moscatel de Setubal. The vineyards owned by J.M. Fonseca cover 650 hectares and are located in the regions of Dao, Alentejo and Terras Do Sado. The company manages the entire production process from viticulture through to production and bottling. This is all done under the supervision of an experienced and highly educated team of winemakers led by Domingos Soares Franco - the first Portuguese winemaker to be graduated from the prestigious University of Davis in California.
JMF Setubal Rose is an excellent rosé wine from Portugal. The wine was created from Portuguese varieties: Castelao and Aragonez (also known in the north of Portugal as Tinta Roriz or Tempranillo in Spain). It has a beautiful salmon colour. In the aroma, we sense rich notes of red fruits; the lighter ones, especially strawberries, as well as dark blackberries. The whole is covered by a delicate aroma of roses. On the palate we discover excellent fruitiness, combined with good, soft acidity. Ideal for casual, afternoon meetings. Also great served with fish and seafood. The José Maria da Fonseca winery is owned by the Soares Franco family, known in the wine business for almost 200 years.
