Zbitń is a forgotten in Poland category of beverages made on the basis of natural ingredients such as honey and common field and forest herbs. It differs from beer in that the prepared wort, as well as the entire fermentation process, is based exclusively on honey. Zbicień Jabłkowy is a light carbonated drink based on honey created by Miodosytnia Augustowska, in the likeness of old Lithuanian alcoholic beverages. Proper fermentation of the extract gives it a delicate sweetness with a clear accentuation of the additives used, in this case apple juice. On hot days, it cools pleasantly, and when served hot in winter, it warms up wonderfully.
