The history of Kosher Certificate Śliwowica Lelowska dates back to ancient times, when Lelów was an important town in the Lesser Poland region and the capital of a district covering the area from Pilica to Wieluń. At that time, it is said that every transaction at the famous Lelów fair had to be sealed with a glass of Slivovitz. The kosher Slivovitz of Lelów was recognised by the Jewish community as meeting the strict kosher standards prescribed by Jewish religious law. The obligatory visits of the rabbi and the kosher certificate received are a guarantee that the highest quality natural ingredients are used in its production and a confirmation of the traditional technology.
