a 12 year old blended Scotch whisky. A blend of more than 40 individual whiskies is used to produce it, the main items being Cardhu from Speyside and Caol Ila from Islay. Each component of Black Label is matured in different carefully selected oak sherry or Bourbon casks for a minimum of 12 years.
Aroma: slightly smoky, toffee, vanilla, buttered toast, sultanas, dried plums and figs, notes of white pepper and toasted oak.
Taste: toffee, caramel, vanilla custard, dark chocolate, dried plums and cherries, allspice, roasted peanuts, traces of peat and oak.
Finish: quite long, with notes of caramel, nut mix, cocoa powder and a distant trace of smoke.
