The quintessence of tradition. Several decades ago, the term "Genitl" appeared on the finest Alsatian wines made from noble varietals. In 1992, the Hugel family first drew on tradition to create a wine called Gentil, which has been a great success in many international markets. It is an ideal introduction to Alsatian wines, as it combines the characteristics of all white varieties. The cool and long growing season gives this exceptional dry wine great finesse and unparalleled drinkability....
The character of this wine flows from the right balance provided by the individual grapes of Alsace. So we have the elegance coming from Sylvaner, the good structure of Pinot Gris, the honesty of Riesling, the spice and lychee fruit aromas of Gewurztraminer, and the sweet exotic fruit accents of Muscat. This is an absolute classic worth knowing.
We can serve such a classic yet elegant wine with light salads, white meat in roasted or braised versions, but it will also be ideal for solo tastings.
