Propolis (bee putty) is a balsamic-resinous substance collected by the workers of the honey bee from the secretions of poplar buds, birch and other deciduous and coniferous trees. It consists of a whole range of biologically active substances, showing a very strong bactericidal and analgesic effect. It shows high activity in relation to some fungi and protozoa. It accelerates cellular metabolism and has a general detoxifying effect.

It regenerates bone, cartilage, skin epithelium, prevents the formation of scars. It is particularly applicable in the treatment of pressure sores, burns, ulcers and difficult to heal wounds and stomach ulcers and chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. It is successfully used for chronic pharyngitis and angina.
